Jonathan Alpeyrie was born in France in 1979, from a Spanish mother and a Russian father. Living in Paris, he decided to leave the old continent to join his father in the United States. Jon has been living in New York since July 1993, and went to school at the University of Chicago, where he studied medieval history.

For more than 10 years Gary was a resident of New York City, working as a documentary photojournalist that has taken him all over the world. He has covered conflicts from Bosnia to Kosovo, to the Middle East where he photographed the ongoing conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians.
